“Haikyu!!” is a Japanese manga series by Haruichi Furudate, serialised in a weekly shōnen magazine from 2012 to 2020.An anime was broadcast on TV from 2014. The series of comics has sold more than 60 million copies in total.

Synopsis

One day, a small boy named ‘Shoyo Hinata’ happened to watch a live TV broadcast of the Spring High School Volleyball Tournament and was fascinated by the ace of his local Miyagi Prefectural Karasuno High School, who was called the ‘Little Giant’, and started playing volleyball.
Although Hinata had exceptional athleticism, spring and a passion for volleyball that more than compensated for her physical disadvantage of short stature, she was not fortunate enough to have a coach or any other members in the volleyball club at the junior high school she entered, and missed the opportunity to improve her skills.
In the summer of their third year of junior high school, they finally managed to gather a team and compete in their first and last official match, where Yukigaoka Junior High School, led by Hinata, was trounced by a strong junior high school with the genius setter Kageyama, known as the ‘King on the court’.

Hinata, who was denied the opportunity to play volleyball for three years at junior high school by Kageyama, joins the Karasuno High School volleyball club in order to take revenge on Kageyama. On the first day of club activities, Hinata enters the gymnasium to find Kageyama in front of her. At first, the two were at odds with each other, but they developed a quick attack without looking at the toss, known as the ‘oddball quick attack’, which makes use of their individual talents, and set their sights on the national tournament together with their unique Karasuno High School friends in order to see the ‘summit view’ that they cannot see alone.

“Haikyu!!” s highlight is the realistic presentation of Haikyu!!, which is not found in other productions. Many of the techniques and character movements depicted in Haikyu!! can be reproduced in reality.
No matter how strong a character is, the matches proceed in an extremely realistic manner, without one of them awakening and upsetting the development of the match.
Although it is a sports manga on the high street, by continuing to portray these characters, the story feels more realistic and draws you into the story.
Another feature of the manga is that it is a sports manga, and perhaps because it is about youth, there are often ‘moving lines’ in the story.
When the players and their friends are going up against the best, and during the game, the words of their friends make the game more interesting and inspire the viewers. These words are packed into “Haikyu!!” is filled with such words.
