“THE GENIUS Bakabon” is an animated television series based on Fujio Akatsuka’s manga “THE GENIUS Bakabon.” There are 40 episodes, 79 episodes in total.
In the original work, there were many depictions of deaths and killings of characters, as well as cruel and violent expressions, which were drastically redrawn for the anime adaptation.

Bakabon, a good-natured and natural-born elementary school boy with an eccentric father and a beautiful mother, has moved to a certain town.
In that town, there is an “uncle Lelele” who is always cleaning the house and saying, “Are you going out? or “Uncle Lelele” who always says “Are you going out? and a policeman who fires his pistol repeatedly while saying, “I’m going to arrest you!
Then Hajime, a child prodigy, is born, and a series of unusual disturbances ensue.
Based on Fujio Akatsuka’s famous gag manga, “The Genius Bakabon” was an anime series broadcast from 1971.

For Japanese people, “THE GENIUS Bakabon” is “the anime that made it possible to remember whether the sun rises in the east or the west.
The opening theme is also addictive, with the slow motion of a meteor crashing into the earth leaving a lasting impression on many viewers.
The melancholy ending theme is also highly acclaimed among fans, and provides a sense of nostalgia.
“THE GENIUS Bakabon” is a masterpiece of Showa (retro) animation. It is a parade of silly gags, but it is a charismatic masterpiece of animation with an addictive quality that strangely fascinates.
