LiSA became interested in rock music after listening to Avril Lavigne, and in 2005 she entered high school and formed the pop-punk band CHUCKY and started performing as a vocalist.
She then formed the rock band ‘Love is Same All’ in Tokyo in 2008 and made her independent major label debut in 2010.
Since her debut, she has sung theme songs for numerous anime such as ‘Fate/Zero’, ‘Sword Art Online’ and ‘Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)’, and reigns as the queen of the anisong (anime song) world.
The opening theme song “Gurenge (紅蓮華)” for ‘Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)’ has been streamed more than 100 million times according to Billboard JAPAN and won the “Best 5 Songs by Download” award at the 34th Japan Gold Disc Awards. It has become a social phenomenon.
When the video of “THE FIRST TAKE”, in which the artist performs in a one-shot performance, was uploaded on Youtube, its overwhelming singing ability attracted worldwide attention and recorded more than 130 million views.
As an artist, it may be natural for an expressive person to sing a song with an in-depth view of the world of each song. In LiSA’s case, however, the sense of immersion is profound. You get into the song, and then into the work on the other side of it.
It is as if another story is shown to you after the main anime. I think that is one of the overwhelming attractions of LiSA.
