Chiaki, initially a perfectionist with a somewhat rigid personality, gradually opens up and discovers the joy of music through his relationship with Noda. On the other hand, Noda is a free-spirited, unconventional character who possesses great piano talent but is often self-centered and a bit of a troublemaker.
