“Princess Mononoke” is Miyazaki Ghibli’s masterpiece. No other work has depicted green and blue with such delicacy. The music is also very wonderful.
The film is about life and death, hatred and strife, and yet, the idea of continuing on with life. It is the best animation that makes us think about coexistence between nature and humans, discrimination, and various other themes, and gives us a sense of satisfaction and happiness that is not half bad after watching it.
The fact that such a strong message can be conveyed in today’s animation, where entertainment comes first and foremost, is a masterpiece of animation that shows the fundamental premise of Hayao Miyazaki’s unfathomable skill as an animator, which is invisible and unspoken.
