PSYCHO-PASS｜Anime

“PSYCHO-PASS” is an original Japanese anime, which was first broadcast on TV in 2012-2013, followed by “PSYCHO-PASS 2” in 2014 and “PSYCHO-PASS 3” in 2019. Four films have also been released.

Synopsis

A world in which human psychological states and personality tendencies could be instantly measured and quantified. All emotions, desires and sociopathic psychological tendencies were recorded and controlled, and the masses were eager to realise them numerically as indicators of the ‘good life’. This metric, which came to be treated as a criterion for judging the state of the human mind and the individual soul itself, was colloquially referred to as ‘Psycho-pass’.

In PSYCHO-PASS, the names of philosophers, thinkers and literary figures and their writings appear one after another in a deliberate manner, to the extent that one might even think that this work is a ‘philosophical’ work. One might even think that this is a ‘philosophical’ work. However, as you continue to listen to it, you gradually become comfortable with it, which is a valuable experience not found in other anime works, and one that allows you to feel the unique worldview of “PSYCHO-PASS”.
