A Japanese animated film broadcast between 1985 and 1986, and part of the Gundam series. It depicts the world seven years after the first Mobile Suit Gundam. It continues to be directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino and is the second Gundam series. In this film, the first appearance of the ‘Enhanced Humans’, new types artificially created by administering drugs and other means, is made. It would be passed on as the basic setting in later Gundam series.

Synopsis

Seven years after the One Year War, the victorious Earth Federation Forces over the Principality of Zeon had grown in numbers and were increasing their control and pressure on the colonies. Eventually, under the guise of ‘hunting the remnants of Zeon’, an elite unit called the Titans was created within the Federation Forces to impose strong-arm sanctions against the space-noids. Some Federation soldiers and space-noids opposed to the rapidly expanding Titans formed the anti-Earth Federation organisation ‘Ego’. A.E.U.G. attacks the Titans’ base, the colony Green Oasis on Side 7, and the colony’s inhabitant Camille Bidan is caught up in the fighting.

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam | Recommendations

The second “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” is the beginning of the “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” series, as the story takes place seven years after the One Year War.
It should be noted that at this point, the settings before and after “Mobile Suit Gundam” and “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam” have of course been prepared, and as a result, the “Gundam” series after “Zeta Gundam” can be viewed in more depth and in greater detail.
