Synopsis

A situation occurs in which the entire human race is instantly petrified by a mysterious phenomenon.
The story takes place thousands of years after all mankind was petrified.
The main character ‘Senku’, a boy with a superhuman brain and a science geek, awakens.
Facing the Stone World, a world of stone where civilisation has perished, Senku decides to reclaim the world with the power of science.
He gathers new friends and creates the ‘Science Kingdom’.
However, the ‘Martial Empire’ led by the strongest high school student among primates, Shishio Tsukasa, stands in their way.
In the battle of science vs. force, SENKU and his group gain the upper hand and reconcile, but Tsukasa is deeply wounded by the betrayal of his comrades.In order to save Tsukasa, who is in a cold sleep, Senku and his team set out for the New World on the other side of the Earth, the source of the petrifying rays.
With the ship’s captain, Ryusui, who has god-like skill in steering the ship, as a companion, Senku and his friends set off into the great ocean.

Originally, civilisations evolved over a span of thousands of years and developed into modern civilisations. However, the main character ‘Senku’ tries to rebuild the world where civilisation has ceased to exist to the modern level at once with the knowledge of science.
While the manga-like setting of the entire human race being petrified and waking up in a world 3700 years later is enjoyable, actual scientific knowledge makes an appearance.
As Senku and his friends follow the trajectory of civilisation, we feel the romance of thousands and tens of thousands of years of human and scientific history.

At first, the focus is on ‘survival’ and ‘coming back from petrification’ in a world where all civilisation has been reset, but the first conflict of ideas arises when Tsukasa Shishio, the strongest high school student among primates, comes back to life.
Senku’s goal is to revive all petrified humans through the power of science. On the other hand, Tsukasa thinks that dirty adults are unnecessary in this reset world, and aims to create a world where only those he approves of can live.
Furthermore, the people who are resurrected from petrification and the people in the villages that SENKU encounters have their own beliefs and wishes that they want to fulfil. The different values and visions for the future lead to differences, which in turn lead to various conflicts of thought and complex human drama.
Even in the absence of civilisation, the film will make you think about the point where ideas clash over trivial matters and the diversity of ways of thinking.
