“SPYxFAMILY” is a manga series by Tatsuya Endo that began serialization in 2019. The anime was televised from 2022. It is a home comedy in which a spy man, an assassin woman, and a psychic girl, who were strangers, establish a “temporary family” and struggle with daily troubles in order to live a “normal life as a family”.

Synopsis

It was a time when the nations of the world were engaged in a fierce information war behind the scenes. Ostania in the East and Westeros in the West have been in a state of cold war for more than a decade.
A highly skilled spy belonging to WISE, the West’s Intelligence Bureau, is assigned a top-secret mission to find out the movements of the president of the East’s National Unity Party, a dangerous figure who threatens the peace between East and West.
The top-secret mission is: “Within one week, you must establish a family and infiltrate a social gathering at a prestigious school attended by the son of the President of the National Unification Party in the East.”
For the top-secret mission, an elite intelligence agent from the West, dressed as a psychiatrist named “Loid” is assigned to create a family.
But the daughter he meets, “Anya” is a psychic who can read minds, and the woman he welcomes as his wife, “Yor” is an assassin!
The interests of the three match, and they end up living together while hiding their true identities from each other.
The peace of the world is entrusted to this happening family for the first time in their lives.

The appeal of “SPY x FAMILY” lies in the personalities of its three central characters, “Loid”, “Anya”, and “Yor”. Each of them has a strong character, and they are depicted as they grow as the story progresses.
The three main characters, “Loid” “Anya” and “Yor” are not really family.”Loid” is a spy who needs to get married and have children for his mission. Having been in need of a boyfriend for a long time, the assassin “Yor” takes up “Loid”‘s proposal of a fake marriage. Neither “Loid” nor Yor knows the other’s real occupation. However, Anya knows the true identity of “Loid” and Yor thanks to her psychic telepathy.
In the first few episodes, “Loid” the spy, begins to develop an attachment to “Anya” who has become his daughter, and he expresses his desire to protect children, including “Anya. It is clear that “Loid” is not just a ruthless spy. “Yor” an assassin, also strives to become “Loid”‘s wife, and gradually awakens to her motherhood as “Anya”‘s mother. “Anya”, who has supernatural powers, also changes from a quiet girl who just wants “Loid” not to abandon her to a more normal and adorable girl.
Although the “fake family” is formed by the unrealistic “relationship between the three of them,” at times it seems like a real family. The way they care for each other and support each other is also a highlight of “SPY x FAMILY”.
